4 Fun Paper Farm Animal Crafts for Kids

These 4 fun farm animal crafts for kids are quick and easy farm animal crafts that are perfect for a farm animal-themed activity or a toddler/preschooler who loves the farm. Directions to make a cow, chicken, pig, and sheep are included.

To make these farm-themed crafts you will need a few simple materials that you most likely have at home already. You will need to use construction paper, scissors, glue, and a black pen/marker. If you want to turn them into puppets/figures for pretend play you will also need a popsicle stick.

Once you make the four different animal crafts you can have toddlers and preschoolers attach them to a popsicle stick and pretend to play with the different animals. Farm Animal Crafts Tips for Success

For these farm crafts for preschoolers and kindergartners, you will need to begin by drawing large circles for the animal’s bodies. If you are unable to free-hand a circle evenly you can use a bowl or cup to trace around for each one.

For each farm animal craft, you can either prep the pieces ahead of time, or if you have an older child you can direct them on how to cut them out or what shapes they will need to make on their own. If you have a little that needs work on cutting skills you can also draw the shapes for them and have them cut them out.

You will need construction paper in the colors pink, yellow, orange, black, and white. You will also need scissors, glue, and optional googly eyes for these animals. All of these are materials we typically have on hand at home. You may also want popsicle sticks to glue to the animals when finished for pretend play.

Easy Construction Paper Farm Animal Crafts for Kids

Materials

• Pink, Yellow, Orange, Black, and White Construction Paper
• Scissors
• Glue Stick
• Black Pen/Marker
• Optional Googly Eyes
• Optional Popsicle Sticks

Farm Animal Cow Craft Directions

 1. Use a bowl to trace a large circle on white paper for the cow’s head and cut it out.

2. Draw and cut out three squiggly black circles for the cow’s spots and glue them on.

3. Cut out a large pink oval for the mouth and glue it on top towards the bottom of the cow’s head. 

4. Cut out two large white ovals and two pink ovals just a bit smaller than the white ones. Glue the pink ones on top of the white ovals to make the ears. Glue the ears onto the back of the large white circle that is the cow’s head.

5. Cut out two small rectangles for the cow’s legs and glue them to the back of the bottom of the cow’s head. 

6. Using a marker draw on two eyes, two nostrils, and a mouth to create your cow. Glue a popsicle stick to the back if desired. 

Farm Animal Sheep Craft Directions

 1. Use a bowl to trace a large circle on white paper for the sheep’s body and cut it out.

2. Trace and cut out a smaller black oval for the sheep’s head and glue it to the middle of the body.

3. Cut out two small semi-ovals for the sheep’s ears and glue them onto the top of the black circle. 

4. Cut out two small black rectangles and glue them to the bottom of the body for the sheep’s legs. 

5. Cut out two much smaller white circles for the eyes and glue them onto the black circle. Use a marker to add black dots to the insides of these for the eyes. Add a smile underneath. 

6. Glue a popsicle stick to the back if desired. 

Farm Animal Pig Craft Directions

 1. Use a bowl to trace a large circle on pink paper for the pig’s head and cut it out.

2. Cut out a much smaller pink circle for the pig’s nose (use the top of a bottle or a small cup if tracing) and glue it onto the pig’s head.

3. Cut out two small triangles and glue them to the top of the large pink circle for the pig’s ears.

4. Cut out two small rectangles and glue them to the bottom of the large pink circle for the pig’s legs.

5. Use a pen or black marker to draw on eyes right above the nose, draw nostrils on the pig’s nose, and add a mouth right underneath. 

6. Glue a popsicle stick to the back if desired. 

Farm Animal Chicken Craft Directions

 1. Use a bowl to trace a large circle on orange paper for the chicken’s head and cut it out.

2.  Trace your child’s hand onto yellow paper and cut it out. Glue to the top of the chicken’s head for the feathers.

3. Cut out a small yellow triangle and glue to the middle of the chicken’s head for the beak. 

4. Cut two very skinny rectangles out of yellow paper and glue them to the bottom for the chicken’s feet.

5. Draw on the chicken’s wattle with a red marker or crayon. Draw on the chicken’s eyes above the beak. 

6. Glue a popsicle stick to the back to use as puppets/for pretend play if desired.
