Tips for Success
*For this craft, you will only need to use one paper plate. You can cut the plate in half and use one half for the body. The other half will be used for the remaining parts of the flamingo.
*If completing this flamingo craft for preschoolers or younger children, you can create the body base with the plate first. Then the younger children can work on glueing the tissue paper down onto the base.
*Older children can cut the plate, cut the tissue paper squares, and glue them all down on their own.
Paper Plate Flamingo Craft for Kids
Materials
- Plain Paper Plate
- Orange Construction Paper
- Black Marker
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
Directions:
1. Cut your paper plate in half.
2. Cut a neck shape from the rounded outside of one half of the paper plate. Cut a longer oval with a pointed end for the head from this same piece of paper plate that is left.
3. Glue the neck and head shapes onto the bottom half of the plate to make the body as shown.
4. Cut out two small orange strips of paper and glue them to the bottom of the flamingo’s body for the legs.
5. Cut out a large amount of tissue paper squares.
6. Glue the tissue paper squares all over the whole body, neck, and head, of the flamingo shape.
7. Draw on a eye and beak with a black marker to complete your flamingo.
