This DIY playdough unicorn kit tutorial shows you how to make your own unicorn playdough kit using materials that can be found at a dollar tree, a local craft store, or Hobby Lobby store. They are inexpensive to make and provide your children with hours of fun.

We’ve bought a few different themed playdough trays through different sellers and have been happy with all of them.
For this unicorn play dough kit you can purchase a “tackle box”to keep all of the different pieces in and make it easier to travel and to bring along places. This also makes a great way to present the playdough tray if given as a gift. Play-doh kits make awesome unique birthday party gifts and this one is perfect for a little unicorn lover.
However, you can also just put all of the pieces in a serving tray with different compartments as shown in the photos above. Then you will just need to store the play dough in a container while not in use. This way is cheaper and great for use at home.

DIY Playdough Unicorn Kit
Materials
- Play dough (homemade or store-bought both work great)
- Miscellaneous loose unicorn themed parts such as:
- Unicorn beads
- Confetti
- Gemstones
- Glitter
- Colored Pasta
- Plastic unicorns
- Foam Stickers
- Sequins
- Unicorn Cookie Cutters
- Playdough tools
Directions:
- Make your homemade playdough in colors that your little one likes best. For a unicorn theme, pink and purple work great. Rainbow colored playdough is also a good option. (or purchase if preferred.) - Prepare miscellaneous unicorn themed loose parts in a bin or tray with different sections.
- Arrange sparkly playdoh, cookie cutters, and dough tools in the same tray or bin. We love using an art tray or even a kitchen food sectioned tray for this.
- Roll out the playdough and cut out some unicorn shapes. Set out these for decorating, large pieces of playdough, and the tray of misc. pieces for children to create unicorns and anything else. Let children explore and play however they’d like.
