Paper Strip Easter Chick Craft Tips
*If completing this craft with younger children you can prep the yellow paper strips ahead of time. Cut out thin paper strips from the shorter side of a piece of construction paper. The children can then glue them down.
*If making this craft with older children you can have them first cut the paper strips and then glue them down to create their chicks independently.
*You can choose to draw a circle outline for children to try to keep their paper strips in or you can show them how to create a circle and they can try their best to make a circle.
*The best part about this craft is that each chick comes out unique depending on how the children glue their paper strips. If they don’t glue them in an exact circle that is okay. They will still turn out super cute no matter what.
Paper Strip Easter Chick Craft for Kids
Materials
- Yellow and orange construction paper
- White cardstock
- Googly eyes
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Pen/marker
Directions:
1. Prep and cut out skinny paper strips from yellow paper. You will need many paper strips.
2. Glue paper strips down in the middle on the paper and overlap them, cross them on angles, and more. Glue them down in a circle shape.
3. Glue down paper strips fanning out from the left sides of the circle as well as the right sides of the circle for wings.
4. Glue an orange triangle beak to the middle of the yellow paper strips.
5. Stick down two eyes above the orange triangle beak.
6. Draw on two legs and add any additional details. A cute saying like “Happy Easter to all My Peeps” turns this into the perfect Easter card.
