Buzzingly Cute Bumblebee Craft for Kids
This super cute bumblebee craft for kids makes the cutest spring or summer craft that is perfect for learning about bumblebees or insects.
It uses basic craft supplies like construction paper and googly eyes, and is easy enough that preschoolers all the way up through grade school age kids can make it.

Bumblebee Craft Tips for Success
- To make this craft, you will need scissors, a glue stick, black and yellow construction paper, googly eyes, and a pen or black marker.
- If making this craft with older children, you can give them the example and have them draw and cut out the paper pieces you will need. You will need:
- A large yellow circle
- A smaller yellow circle
- 4 Strips of black paper
- Two black small black hearts
- 1 small black triangle
- 2 skinny and shorter (about 2″) black rectangles
- If making this craft with younger children, you can draw the pieces for them and have them cut them out and glue them together in a directed order. If even younger, you can draw and cut out the pieces for them, and they can glue them together as directed.
- This craft is the perfect craft for learning about bumblebees. Children can make the craft and then talk about the parts of an insect and point out the wings, stinger, antennae, body, head, etc…It also makes a great summer or spring craft.
Bee Craft for Kids
Materials:
- Black and yellow construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Black marker/pen
- Googly eyes
Directions:
- Cut a large circle out of yellow construction paper for the bumblebee’s body. You can use a large bowl as a tracer to make this easier if needed.
- Cut a smaller circle out of yellow construction paper for the bumblebee’s head. You can use a child’s child-sized bowl or a cup as a tracer if needed.
- Glue the smaller yellow circle to the top of the larger yellow circle.
- Cut out four paper strips the length of the bee’s body and about 1″ wide. Glue them on the large yellow circle to make them look like stripes. Trim the ends so that they are even with the edges of the circle.
- Cut out two black hearts for the bee’s wings and glue the pointed side of each heart to each side of the back of the bumblebee’s body.
- Cut out a small black triangle and glue it to the bottom of the large yellow circle to make the bee’s stinger.
- Cut out two small black rectangles (about 2″ by 1/4′) and glue them to the top of the smaller yellow circle for the bumblebee’s antennae.
- Glue the googly eyes to the middle of the smaller yellow circle and draw on a smile underneath the eyes to complete this super simple bumblebee craft.
