Fork Painted Crayon Craft Tips for Success

  • When making this craft, use a fork to dip in paint and tap it down on the paper. Tap over and over to create the fun fork designs in a straight line shape. Do one color at a time and then move next to it for the next color. Wash or wipe your fork with paper towels in between colors.
  • You should use a yellow piece of construction paper for the crayon box. Let the painted crayons completely dry before you glue the paper box on, or the paper will wrinkle.
  • You can add the green details on the crayon box with green construction paper triangles or draw the sides on with a green marker. We chose to draw it, but you can focus on rectangle and triangle shapes with young kids if you add paper ones.
  • Once you’re finished putting the craft together, you can add details with a black marker. Add stripes to the crayons, and you can even choose to add a cute saying to go on top once complete if desired.
  • Cute crayon sayings include:
    • “Bursting with color!”
    • “The sharpest crayon in the box”
    • “Having a colorful year”
    • “It’s time to get your cray-on”
