*As a Mom to a 2 year old boy who loves fire trucks this was the perfect craft to make with him. Little ones will be so excited to make a fire truck and can do many of the steps on their own. Modify the steps if your children are younger or give them more freedom to work independently if they are older.
*This craft can be made with toddlers, preschoolers, grade school and more. Make it during fire safety week as a follow up or before going to see the firefighters and fire trucks at a local fire station.
*You may not need a glue stick for this craft if you have the construction paper pieces ready before you paint. Then you can paint and stick the construction paper pieces on top of the wet paint. They will stay on and dry without needing glue. This way is great but tends to get a little messy.
*For a less messy version of this fun fire safety craft you can paint your truck background and let it dry completely. Then once it has dried you can use a glue stick to glue on the construction paper pieces.

- Paper plate
- Red washable paint
- Paint brush
- Construction paper
- Glue stick

Directions:
- Draw a line all the way through the center of your paper plate splitting it in two halves. Draw a triangle shape in the top right portion of one of the halves.

- Paint the back side of the cut out fire truck base red and let dry.
- Cut out 3 one inch circles for the wheels from black construction paper and glue them to the bottom of the paper plate.
- Cut out a long rectangle from black paper. Cut out three smaller black rectangles from the inside of the longer rectangle to create a ladder and glue it onto the back of the paper plate.
- Cut out a 1″ square from black construction paper and a rectangle about half the size to make the two windows. Glue the two windows on the top left of the plate to make the windshield.
- Cut out a small yellow half circle for the siren/light and glue it to the top of the firetruck right next to the side of the ladder.
