This Valentines scavenger hunt printable is a fun activity to do on the days leading up to Valentine’s Day. It is so much fun for kids of all ages and the clues can be found and hidden in places that are available in most homes.

Each Valentine’s clue that can be found has a clue written on it that will lead children to find the next clue. Some clues are easy to find and figure out the answers to while other clues are a little more mysterious and more open-ended and children may have to look in a few different places until they find them.

The Valentine’s Day clues include fun rhyming phrases and riddles that tell where you can find more clues as well as cute Valentine’s and love themed pictures. Simply complete the hunt for a fun activity to fill your day or add a little treat bag, candy, or Valentine’s surprise at the end of the hunt for a job well done.

Valentines Scavenger Hunt Set-Up Tips

*This Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt will need to be set up ahead of time by an adult. Put the clues in the correct places and a prize at the end (if desired). A great place to put the first clue is in a Valentine’s themed book you play to read together, set it on the table upon waking up for the day or from nap, or just bring it out and give it to your children. See the list below for directions on where to put the rest of your clues:

STARTing clue: In a Valentine’s themed book, sitting on the kitchen table, or in a spot your child may stumble upon it while playing.

  1. Under the covers of a bed in the home
  2. In an art cabinet or anywhere else you may keep crayons and coloring utensils – tape to a box of crayons
  3. Near a speaker, TV, or anywhere else you may listen to music together
  4. In a cabinet or on a shelf where you keep flour, sugar, and other baking materials
  5. Where you keep gloves for cold weather, cleaning, or gardening
  6. In or near your child’s or another family member’s shoes
  7. In a drawer or cabinet where you store chocolate and treats
  8. In a closet near reusable shopping bags or plastic bags that you store for later.
  9. Taped underneath a favorite chair: kitchen chair, rocking chair, comfy chair, etc…
    • Tape this one under the chair and put a bag of treats, a Valentine’s surprise, or any other item desired to go with it.

*When completing this fun Valentine’s scavenger hunt in our home we always like to add in a fun treat bag or prize at the end. It doesn’t have to be big or expensive. Another great and budget-friendly idea is to print off a few Valentine’s themed coloring pages for a fun surprise at the end. A prize is optional and you can just complete the activity for fun as well. This activity is also awesome for working on following directions, number order, and more.

Valentine's Day Scavenger Hunt Clues

Valentine’s Day Scavenger Hunt – Free Valentines Printable

Materials

  • Scissors
  • Free Valentine’s Day Printable Scavenger Hunt PDF
  • Valentine’s treats/prizes, Valentine’s crafts, coloring pages, etc…

Directions

  1. Print and cut out the Valentine’s Day scavenger hunt clues in one of the two sizes.
  2. Place each clue in the corresponding spot around the house (see above list with directions on where you should put each clue). Add the starting clue in a book to read together or an easy to find spot around the home.
  3. Add in the Valentine’s themed prize, coloring pages, etc…with the last clue sheet underneath a chair.
  4. Lead the children through the scavenger hunt (or have them complete it on their own in a group depending on their ages). Help them figure out where to find any clues they may need help with or are stuck on. Only give them additional assistance if needed. Help them find the prize at the end and have a fun time searching together.
