Unicorns are very big right now. Everywhere you go you see unicorn toys, clothes, and games. If your kids are anything like my toddler they love unicorns and everything to do with them.

My toddler asks for unicorn clothes every time we go to the store. So I thought what better way to play into her interests than making a unicorn craft that she can keep at home and play with.

This unicorn project also includes rainbow hair. Rainbows are another thing that is very big right now with kids. It is a great project to practice the colors of the rainbow or even just color knowledge and recognition skills in general.

The rainbow colors utilized mean that it can also double as a fun St. Patrick’s Day project as well as an everyday project for kids who love unicorns. Read on to find out how to make your own rainbow unicorn project.

We created two different versions of this using two different types of paper plates that we had lying around the house. One you use the top of the plate and the other you use the bottom side of the plate.

Both worked equally well and turned out great. Scroll to the bottom to see both versions and decide which unicorn plate craft you like best.

You will need to make sure that you have paper plates at home for this project as well as scissors, glue, and construction paper. If your little ones want to embellish their unicorns once put together you may also want foam stickers, glitter, and more.

Thanks so much Rachel! We always try to do most of our projects with things that we have around the house because a lot of them are last minute ideas.
