St. Patrick’s Day Scavenger Hunt Set-Up Tips

*Make sure to set this scavenger hunt up ahead of time by putting the clues in the correct places. You can put the first clue in a book you are planning to read, at the child’s spot at the kitchen table, or in the middle of a big mess on St. Patrick’s Day morning made by “the leprechauns.” See the below list for where to put the clues after this:

Starting Clue: In a book, in the mess from the leprechauns, at a spot at the kitchen table, etc…wherever desired that children can easily find it without looking.

  1. Coat closet – where you keep kid’s coats
  2. On or under a chair (kitchen chair, living room chair, rocking chair, etc…)
  3. Taped up to a light switch or under a lampshade
  4. Next to or on a shoe rack or shoe closet
  5. In a toy box
  6. In a cabinet or drawer in the kitchen where you keep the plates
  7. Behind or taped to the front door or a door to the garage
  8. Hidden behind a TV or iPad
  9. Final Clue: In the shower

*When setting up this St. Patrick’s Day scavenger hunt I would recommend putting together a small prize bag or treat for little ones. However, this is completely optional and you can just do the scavenger hunt for fun.

Some ideas for a fun surprise at the end of the hunt include gold coins (either candy or plastic), quarters, St. Patrick’s Day books, popper toys, St. Patrick’s Day coloring pages (great for a low budget scavenger hunt), stickers, rings, rainbow themed toys or candy, and other miscellaneous St. Patrick’s Day themed trinkets.
